Welcome to the World Famous Brendan Chase Guest House
A great place to stay in Windermere with bed and breakfast from £18 per person per night
Brendan Chase, a Victorian house dating from the 1850s at 1 College Road, Windermere, has been welcoming visitors from all over the world since the 1930s and perhaps before. It was acquired by David Maloney in December 2003.
We offer no-smoking bed & breakfast / guest house accommodation in Windermere with prices from ONLY £18 per person, per night.
Brendan Chase is on College Road, a quiet street without parking restrictions just around the corner from the centre of Windermere, with public houses and a variety of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets close at hand.
We are the most conveniently situated Windermere bed and breakfast or guest house with the railway and bus stations and Tourist Information Centre approximately 150 yards away. Our central, but quiet location makes Brendan Chase the perfect place to stay and from which to explore Windermere, Bowness or the Lake District National Park whether arriving by car or public transport.

We have standard double, twin and en-suite rooms, with larger family rooms which are either standard or en-suite. Although almost all of our smaller rooms have double beds we may at quieter times let these rooms to the single traveller. Our most spacious bedrooms, which are very popular with families or small parties of travellers, have a double and three single beds with plenty of room to spare.
All our rooms are spacious and comfortable with central heating, hair drier, colour television, and a hospitality tray. There is furniture from the Victorian era with original paintings in oil and watercolour and a selection of prints from the period. We have limited private parking at the rear of the house although there is unlimited parking on College Road with overnight parking on the nearby main streets of Windermere. For cyclists and motor cyclists we have an enclosed yard with security lights at the rear of the house which is locked at night.
Please note that we do not allow smoking in any part of the house.
We are very pleased to be mentioned in various guides such as The Rough Guide to England, The Lonely Planet, Fodor, Let's Go Travel Guide to Britain & Ireland, The Good Guide to The Lakes and many others.
